Midwest Pro Soccer Combine Set for Dec 19-20 at Legacy Center Sports Complex
The Midwest Pro Combine will be back for its third edition in 2018. The combine was created to foster the region’s elite talent, seeking to bring in the top six players in each position for professional coaches, scouts and agents to identify and evaluate. The Midwest Pro Soccer Combine has a maximum player capacity of seventy players to ensure the highest quality of talent, along with maximum exposure for the players. This format, along with the level of talent, has helped make this event one of the most successful in the country.
The classes of ‘16 & ‘17 already boast over 45 players who have signed with professional clubs in North America and abroad, 7 of which were selected in the MLS Draft. Based on the combine’s success, the third annual event is expected to draw even more interest from top professional prospects, as professional clubs from MLS, USL, USL D3, NISA and NPSL Pro look to form their 2019 rosters.
“This has turned into an annual fixture in the team building cycle for clubs here in North America. In our short existence we’ve had 7 MLS clubs and 15 USL clubs attend as they look to identify talent for their rosters. We are looking forward to cultivating another great environment for players and professional clubs this December,” said combine founder and director, Eric Rudland.
Players can apply online, submit their football CV, references and recent video footage, which will be examined by the combine’s player acceptance committee. There are a number of variables taken into consideration when looking at a player's application, such as: positional play, dominant foot, age, foreign vs domestic status and playing history. 2018 player applications are now live and will remain open until Monday, December 3rd, 2018.
