First Deal Inked, 3 Players Drafted
Participants from the 2017 Midwest Pro Soccer Combine are making moves. During this past week we have seen our first player signing and 3 players selected in Major League Soccer’s 2018 Superdraft.
The first player signing of the 2017 event is exciting to say the least, as Alexis Souahy has signed with the reigning 2017 USL Champions, Louisville City FC. Souahy will be a great fit in Louisville City’s backline as he is versatile to play in a 3 back or 4 back system. His athleticism, soft feet and capacity to defend will position him for success at the USL level.
Along with Souahy’s signing, three 2017 participants have been drafted by MLS teams:
Drew Shepherd (Western Michigan University) - Toronto FC
Ken Krolicki (Michigan State University) - Montreal Impact
Ben White (Gonzaga University) - Toronto FC
These three men will have the opportunity to enter pre-season with their respective MLS teams and earn a contract at the next level.
